Chantrelle Mushrooms

October has been a fantastic month for mushroom hunting. We've found lots of varieties of mushrooms, but we only keep and eat the chantrelles. Hood Canal and just off Hiway 18 have an abundant amount of chantrelles this year. This year our son-in-law, daughter, and grandson, my brother, and a friend, even joined in the hunt. What fun!

Today we prepared to celebrate the 30th birthday of our daughter Jenny by preparing our kids favorite meal (Chris (34) & Jenny's) - home cooked whole chickens and noodles. We had fresh chantrelles that we'd picked yesterday and homemade cupcakes for dessert. Here's a birthday post from 2008.
