October has been a fantastic month for mushroom hunting. We've found lots of varieties of mushrooms, but we only keep and eat the chantrelles. Hood Canal and just off Hiway 18 have an abundant amount of chantrelles this year. This year our son-in-law, daughter, and grandson, my brother, and a friend, even joined in the hunt. What fun!

Here it was a great season for Porcini...yummy!
You should try to cook a risotto with those beautiful mushrooms.
